Indigenous Communities
We are proud of the strong relationships we have built with our Indigenous partners and stakeholders. These relationships are underpinned by agreements with:
- Nation Innu Matimekush-Lac John
- Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach
- Innu Takuaikan Uashat mak Mani-Utenam
- Innu Nation of Labrador
- NunatuKavut Community Council
These agreements aim to ensure meaningful participation in TSMC’s Operations, fostering socio-economic benefits, respecting traditional activities and knowledge, and minimizing and mitigating environmental impacts.

Honoring our Commitments
Proper implementation of our agreements with our partner communities as well as with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is vital to achieving these objectives. Our approach includes:
- Timely and Open Communication: Ensuring transparency through regular reporting and updates.
- Collaborative Management: Working closely with Indigenous Groups through implementation committees and Health, Safety, and Environment Committees to address community priorities.
- Continuous Improvement: regularly evaluate our processes and seek constructive feedback from stakeholders to identify opportunities for enhancement, while adapting to new trends and demands as they emerge.
